Intolerance among Muslims

Qur’aanic Verse 23.96:

96. IdfaAA biallatee hiya ahsanu alssayyi-ata nahnu aAAlamu bima yasifoona

96. Dispel evil with what is good! We do know what they say.13

Study Note:

13. The suppressors of the Truth (alkaafiroon) did say nasty things about the Prophet (peace on him) then, as they say now. But now the Muslim society – especially in those places where they are in a majority – has become abysmally intolerant. They refuse to obey the golden divine instruction in this Verse. No wonder they have lost any claim to divine help.

The above is an extract from Qur’aanic Studies Manzil IV, which will soon, inshaAllah, be published on Amazon Kindle. Manzil IMabzil II & Manzil III of the series are already published.

  1. Before I forget the transliteration is not matching with the Arabic text, which is probably an oversight.
I am glad you chose this ayah of Quran. This aayah alone will suffice to create love among individuals, families and nations. Trillions of Rupees, or doll ars will not do what this simple formula of repelling bad with good will do.

    Mohammad Shafi responds:
The error ie rectified. Thanks for pointing it out.

  2. This is a good topic to discuss and express our views because intolerabnce among Muslims has become intolerable. Most often, we are our own victims. Look at what is hapenning in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, and then the attempts by the respective gevernments to supress revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Lybia. Our rulers and our society have never allowed any dissent. It has either been totalitarian monarchy or dictatorship. Can a begining be made to change? Can we learn from others?

I would like to invite comments on this topic.
